I know a lot of people are not into couponing. If you are reading this,  the chances are high that you are. If you are a loved one or have one, who just doesn’t get it, this is for them. Sit down or sit them down so they can learn the best ways of supporting the couponer in your life.

Get To Know The Process

I once had someone tell me couponing was only for people without money. They did not know anything about how it worked or the kind of savings it could bring. I don’t even think they had a savings account or much money to put away. It was a foreign concept to them that came with negative connotations. I had to set the record straight. Couponing is for everyone, especially people with high monthly grocery bills. If you are on a tight budget, it will help you keep more money in your pocket. If you’re like me, it’s a way to put money towards trips and other things you love. Even the wealthiest families I know will break out coupons. If you know nothing about coupons, take a minute to sit down and learn about the process. What can you save on, how can you do it without cutting out multiple paper coupons, and how much money can you save. Once you have a basic understanding and even try it out for the first time, you will be in a different mindset.

Keep a Positive Attitude

If you are ever asked to accompany a couponer on a shopping trip, have a little patience. Sometimes the process can take a while, but it is well worth it in the end. You can help speed things up a number of ways. For one, you can help find the appropriate items on the list. You can cross out things that are already in the cart and help get the coupons out and organized before you go up to the register. Be kind, and get into it. You will find that couponing is fun. I make a game out of how much I can save and have even gotten my boyfriend to help on occasion.

Celebrate The Savings

Once you see how much you can save, celebrate it. People look for ways to save money every day. This one trick can be a saving grace for those that need it. Take everything you save, and put it towards a mutual goal or reward. The savings I generate on cashback apps goes towards Christmas gifts. What will you use your savings for and in what other ways will you support the couponer in your life?
