When it comes to grocery shopping, there’s more to it than a list. When you hunt for deals and use coupons, you have to know what day and time is best for shopping. Going on the right day means access to a healthier supply of products. It can also mean, scooping up discounts before everyone else. If you’re looking to get the best bang for your buck, then you need to know when is the best day to grocery shop.

The Best Day To Shop

Research suggests the best day to grocery shop is Wednesday. Why? Because that’s when most stores put out their weekly sales flyers and it’s the middle of the week. Mid-week is when most stores offer discounts on items that are nearing their expiration date. Wednesday is also less crowded than the weekends, so you can get in and out of the store quickly and easily. It’s a great time to browse without feeling rushed. Please note that not every store puts out its weekly ad on that day. Drug stores and Target usually start a new ad on Sunday and Kroger on Thursday. At any rate, be sure to check the ad date before heading into the store.

The Best Time To Shop

I find that shopping early morning in the morning is typically the best time. That’s when the shelves are fully stocked. Depending on what store you frequent, that is also the time they are marking down items. I go to Kroger around 7 in the morning and always find the best freshly marked-down produce, snacks, and meats to purchase. However, if you can’t make it first thing in the morning, lunchtime or early evening should also be good times to head to the store. I even find myself shopping at night when I want to avoid large crowds, though there aren’t many discounts left. No matter what time you go, avoid shopping during rush hour if possible!

When you go shopping on the right day at the right time, you increase your chances of saving more in-store and getting quality products at a discount.
