When to Buy/In Season:
Late summer through fall, although available year round in warm climates.
How to Select:
Tomatillos are covered with a paper husk, which should be intact. The fruits should be firm, not soft and squishy.
Organic Issues:
Certified organic tomatillos are rare.

Fresh:
Store in husks for several weeks.
Frozen:
To Freeze from fresh:
Most are cooked and pureed or salsified before freezing. If roasted, will keep in freezer indefinitely.
Canned:
Store up to six months.
